Why ever ???????: The kid has only a crude sense of taste at this point and will have no benefit by such a strange addition to its diet. I have seen such "offers" put an infant in the hospital with acute vomiting and diarrhea. The 6 wk old has no memory of great tastes to savor and whatever chocolate ice cream may mean to the adult, it does not mean the same to the kid. Stick with breast milk or formula until a yr.
