Slow and steady: After a stroke, activity should begin slowly- understanding that recovery is a marathon and not a sprint. Physical therapy, walking, and slow purposeful increases in activity with avoidance of strenuous exercise is best. Ask a local physical medicine/rehab md for the best timing and exercise regiment for your family member with their stroke.
