How common is melanoma in a male age 27?

Too common: One of my students lost her husband to melanoma when he was 25. He loved being shirtless in summer, it was on his back, it was tiny, and it went unnoticed. He died in 6 months. The great physician tom dooley md died of melanoma in his early 30s. If you have any suspicion that you've got a melanoma, it needs to be seen.

Why do you ask?: Not common. But the most common cancer death among young men. If a concern, see a dermatologist.
