Not uncommon: Often, the most common source of bleeding after intercourse is from the cervix, which is the lowest part of the uterus that extends into the upper vagina. Increased friction from sex can cause this bleeding, as can an infection of the cervix, and injury to the uterine lining during sex which is especially seen in women on birth control pills. See your doctor for an exam and definitive diagnosis.
