Depends when: If you have a positive pregnancy test, see you doctor. We usually count from the 1-st day of your last period, so if your last period was march 1 you are 8 weeks pregnant.

A female asked:
Is my doctor able to tell when exactly was my last period as I didnt write it down?(to tell how many weeks I have been pregnant)

MD can calculate: The MD can do a calculated guess of how long your pregnancy has been present based upon pelvic exam, and ultrasound. As the pregnancy progresses, other parameters can more accurately determine pregnancy age based upon growth landmarks. The LMP is "lost" forever in those calculations, however.
