A member asked:

My mom lost a lot of hair since she got diabetic, is it her diabetes doing that? and what should she do to stop this hair loss?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hair: Diabetes and the medications that cause diabetes can cause hair loss. I can cause a stress on the body that can cause thinning. It's important that she try to get her diabetes well controlled. However, other things can cause hair thinning. I would suggest she see her doctor to be evaluated for emotional stress, thyroid issues or anemia. Hope that helps.
