Yes: But this is not common these days. However if the inflammatory process is not treated it can cause severe malnutriton, weight loss, anemia, and possibly progress to toxic megacolon and perforation which is fatal if not diagnosed and treated promptly.

Yes: But unlikely especially with advancements in treatment. Recent epidemiological studie suggest that the overall mortality in patients with ibd is not increased when compare to the general population.

Possible: It is possible but recent literature suggests that overall mortality with ibd is similar to that of the general population. Morbidity on the other hand is greatly increased.
