Sacroiliac Joint: A 30's female who experiences a popping sound and acute onset sciatica after bending over likely has experienced sacroiliac joint subluxation. Vertebral vertebrae do not pop. An osteopath can readily diagnose and manipulate into proper alignment.

Back/Radicular pain: There's 2 possibilities. First, a herniation of the disc in the back and now the disc is touching the L5 or s1 nerve that radiates to your buttock. Secondly, you can have strained a muscle causing the pain to radiate to the butt (myofascial syndrome). The first scenario will heal a lot slower. Normally, we wait at least 6 wks to see how pain resolves. If no contraindication, take advil (ibuprofen) 600 tid.
