35 yrs old: Technically after age 35 is considered 'advacned maternal age.' many women go on to have healthy pregnancies after that point, but there is a higher risk of complications including down syndrome, pre-eclampsia, and diabetes. It is important that you talk with your doctor about your health and considering pregnancy.

Older than 35-40: There is no strict cut-off or "cliff". It is a slope with age gradually associated with increasing risks and difficulties. Individual situation also needs to be considered. Some people age slower.
