Tylenol, (acetaminophen) but...: Shingles pain can be extreme. Years ago, david letterman had it so severe that he couldn't do his show for like a month or more. If you have shingles, go to your doctor because there are other medications you can take that will minimize the duration of the outbreak and can reduce the inflammation and "post-herpetic neuralgia" (permanent pain associated with herpes!).
