Puffy eyelids: If you have no other specific cause for a puffy eye, such as allergies, infection or trauma, then it may just be due to fat prolapse. Essentially, the fat cushioning the eyeball pops thru a barrier in the eyelid and cannot go back. This prolapsed fat leads to puffy eyelids. You can try sleeping with a extra pillow to keep the head above the level of your heart. Otherwise, it will require surgery.
