Does wearing eye glasses cause one to become dependent on them?

Sometimes: Most who need glasses find that the clearer vision is pleasing and helpful and develop a dependence from that advantage. People in the mid years, who are far sighted (need magnifying lenses in the glasses), may find that wearing the glasses allows the focusing muscles to relax so that the vision, without the glasses, may become more blurry - inducing a dependence.

Glasses: This is a myth. Glasses to help you see far or near make it easier to see, but they do not make your eyes worse. Nor do they make you more dependent on glasses.
