Cool compress: In addition to cool compresses, aveeno (oatmeal) baths, calamine, hydrocortisone, oral Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or other anti-histamine could all be helpful.

Not much: Most of the times infants don't react the same as older children and don't scratch. If he does clip the nails close and you can put calamine lotion but no other medicines other than tylenol (acetaminophen).
