A member asked:

What does calcium oxalate 4-8/hpf mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Calcium oxalate: Calcium oxalate crystals in the urine are the most common constituent of human kidney stones. What the urine analysis report is stating is that there are 4-8 of them per highpowered field (hpf) of the microscope used in examining the urine specimen. Their presence in the urine is not diagnostic of having kidney stones, however.
