Bleeding enough for a tampon. is this spotting or actual period? thanks.

Irregular bleeding: "period" is lay-persons terms for what we refer to menses. And what does a doctor call menses? The cyclical bleeding that occurs after ovulation in a non pregnant female (one who did not get pregnant from her ovulation) spotting is bleeding that comes and goes not related to ovulation. It can be because of polyps, pcos, sex, etc... So the real question is: did you ovulate?
