Why are males more likely to have fragile x syndrome?

Balance: Females have 2 X chromosomes.If they carry a normal X ( but one fragile X) the normal X contains enough encoded information to compensate for some of the bad information on the fragile X.Females often do have some related problems as carriers. Males with only one X, have no way to compensate for the bad information so they are the most affected sex.
