Between 9 and 12.: Puberty in boys usually starts between 9 and 12. The first signs are rapid growth (height) and some enlargement of the scrotum and testicles. Penile growth and pubic hair come next. If you think your 8 year old is showing signs of puberty, you should discuss this with his doctor.
