Is there a blood test to check to see if a person has zinc deficiency?

Yes, but is not: Usually needed. With the exception of rare metabolic disorders or persons on total parenteral nutrition, zinc deficiency is rare. Usual diet has sufficient zinc to meet the needs of the body.
