Vagal Reaction : This was likely what's called a "vasovagal reflex" and is actually quite common. It is associated with warmth, flushing, sweating, lightheadedness, vision changes, nausea, vomiting and often causes people to "pass out" (syncope). It is only dangerous if one actually loses consciousness while standing (causing them to fall) or if driving a motor vehicle. It is concerning if it occurs recurrently.
