A member asked:

How does nicotine affect my baby inside, if i'm pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not known: Cigarette smoke is known to have toxins that can affect the baby's lung development, plus known carcinogens. Nicotine (patcher or gum) for mothers trying to quit may be preferable to the cigarette. However, you will not find many physicians offering this trade off
