Yes & no: Yes, that is ok- essential tremor is not influenced by cigarettes. But cigarettes are so bad for your health. They increase the risk of heart attack, stroke and lung cancer. These are good reasons not to smoke.

Postural tremor: Typical essential tremor is marked by a postural tremor (present when holding a position, but not at rest) that is worse with stress and caffeine and better with rest and small amounts of alcohol.
