What is the specific: Shot that you are referring to?. A general rule is that it is best to wait until you are not ill before getting shots (but there are some exceptions depending on which shot it is).

You can: I am a pediatrician, and our usual answer to this type of question is "Yes, if you have a simple cold, and not sick, by all means, get an immunization that is due". For an adult, I suppose that you do not have a particular immunization you need to have this month or next month, so I suppose that you can wait till you feel better, but to have a simple cold is not a contraindication for a vaccine.
