A member asked:

Could frequent urination with having to strain be caused by a lack of water in the diet?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Frequent urination: If you have frequent urination (F), get a urine culture and urine analysis. Urinary tract infections can give your F. If you have one, get antibiotics to treat it. F can be seen in diabetes insipidus (DI) or diabetes mellitus (DM). Your urine analysis will show a dilute urine in DI and a urine with glucose in it in DM. Lack of water does not cause F.
