Reduce symptoms: Birth control pills can be used to decrease the menstrual cramps and quantity of bleeding caused by uterine fibroids because they decrease the production of female hormones, prevent ovulation and help regulate menses. But, birth control pills do not reduce the size of uterine fibroids. Fortunately, there are number of surgical and minimally invasive options for treatment of uterine fibroids.
