Doctors, what are the ingredients in common hangover pills and what do they do?

There aren't any: "common" hangover pills. There are hundreds of purported remedies for hangover. The reason for this is that none of them have been proven to work. When something actually works, then you see only that product and a few me-too drugs. Vitamins, antioxidants and a variety of herbal products are around, and every one has a different formulation.
