A member asked:

Is high blood sugar levels 305 related to a co2 level of 60?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Glucose and CO2: Was the co2 level of 60 you wrote about seen on a blood gas result? That shows the person is retaining co2 has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd). A glucose of 305 indicates the patient is a diabetic, either newly diagnosed or poorly controlled. Disturbances in glucose metabolism are more common in COPD patients than in COPD free individuals. Ask the patient's physician for more info.
