See details: A normal EMG makes a neuropathy unlikely. If pain is the only issue, that also makes a neuropathy less likely.

Sometimes: If you have large fiber (bigger nerves) neuropathy, then yes. However, if you have small fiber disease, then it most likely will not show on emg. Also, if the neuropathy is new (within the last 30 days) or did not damage enough fibers, it can also be negative. If you have had foot surgery and they are looking for an entrapment syndrome in the foot, EMG is only about 50% sensitive.
