A member asked:

What causes cracking and popping in my sternum when i pull my shoulders back?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cartilage : The sound you feel and hear is the joint between your ribs and your sternum. The ribs are joined to the sternum by cartilage and ligaments, just like the other joints in your body. They are supposed to move, and this makes a popping noise.
