Ovulation: Ovulation is the release of an egg from the ovary ready for impregnation. If you ovulate you have periods unless you get pregnant when you ovulate. Missing periods usually means pregnancy. If one is not pregnant then the interruption of the period usually means the interruption of ovulation and this can be caused by extremes such as stress, weight loss, dieting, obesity and hormones.
