No: They address social situation involving the patient( setting up visiting nurse or nursing home placement.....) they do not give medications his.Or iv's , a nurse does this.

No they do not : administer IVs or medications. They have training in social work (BA) and some are trained as clinical social workers (Masters Level) with training in therapy. They often work in hospitals and help plan for aftercare and work with families caring for ill relatives.. Psychologists must have a Doctorate and are trained more intensively in therapy, research of psychology and psychological testing.
