Hard to treat: This often requires long courses of antibiotics (~30 days) and sometimes requires cycling through multiple antibiotics. For example, some patients will take one antibiotic for 2 weeks, a second antibiotic for 2 weeks. Your pcp can help you with this. Most importantly, to prevent spreading c diff, wash hands with warm soap and water for 30 seconds. Hand gel doesn't work on c diff.
