Some things to try: Use a heating pad. Place a towel behind your head or under chin and have someone pull gentle traction, change your pillow - try several until you find the one that's most comfortable for you.
Use nsaid's (ibuprofen/naproxen) at the first sign of pain before it gets really bad.
