They can: It can be done but not nessasary. You can request, but it will be most likely out of pocket additional expense.

Not needed: Anesthesia is not needed for this quick procedure. Your doctor will probably use some local anesthetic and maybe give you some pain medicine.

Do antibiotics affect birth control, specifically IUDs? I'm on Cipro (ciprofloxacin) and have a Mirena IUD.
Ive tried BCPs, IUDs, Nexplanon, the patch, the ring.. basically everything but shots, all varying hormone levels. Was fine for 3 years on the pill, but now every single birth control makes me bleed 4+ weeks nonstop. Why?!?!?!
