A member asked:

I have persistent sore throat, do i need to see a doctor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It would be best: Most prolonged sore throats are caused by moderate conditions, such as nasal allergies, mouth-breathing, acid reflux, etc. Some are caused by activities, such as smoking or consuming alcohol, that can lead to serious conditions. Once in a while, persistent throat pain suggests a more serious condition. If it seems to be going on forever, a doctor's appointment would be best.
