Peri menopausal: At age 45 your menstrual cycles will start to lengthen and become more irregular as you approach menopause. Most of the over 40 day cycles are non ovulatory estrogen only cycles. However, these are interspersed with ovulatory 25 to 35 day cycles. and you can still get pregnant without contraception. Talk to your local GYN MD about what to expect in your menstruating future.
