Not likely: Temperature elevation is the body's response to infection. Most cancers do not stimulate this part of the body's defense so the temperature does not elevate in early cancer. If you temperature is elevated and your tonsils appear inflamed or hurt then you probably have an infection of your tonsils.

No not exactly: A look inside your throat by your doctor is the best way to see your tonsil's health or any problem in that area. Fever is more often a symptom of infection...Rarely due to cancer and in that case it is often due to internal/advanced cancers which can sometimes cause fever.
