Maybe: A pelvic ultrasound can be very helpful to distinguish between a cyst (hollow) or a tumor (solid). Sometimes the findings are equivocal (may look mixed solid-hollow) and further studies have to be done but it's pretty good at telling which is which and very little discomfort involved.
