Need eval: Check for signs of infection: ^'ed redness, warmth, swelling. ^'ed tenderness, pus, red streaking, swollen lymph nodes or fever. Recommend keeping piercing in place unless directed by Dr (if removed – drainage tract will close up w ^'ed risk of abscess formation). Call Dr for medical evaluation. Your Dr may prescribe oral antibiotics or antibiotic ointments to apply to piercing site.

An ID specialist: (Disclosure: I am an ID specialist) You shouldn't have to live with a continuously infected ear piercing. Before you think of a medicine, you must know if your suffering is caused by an infection or an allergic reaction to the stud put through the piercing. If it is indeed an infection, the right treatment will be based on what is growing from cultures. an ID doctor can help you with your problem.
