Salicylic acid: This is just salicylic acid. If you're prone to acne, and your skin is "sensitive", you're going to have grit your teeth and endure some discomfort to keep your acne under control, whether you use this, benzoyl peroxide, or a retinoic acid derivative. If you're not clear in two weeks, get with your personal physician. Good luck.

Retinol: In general, i recommend my patients with sensitive skin to wash with cetaphil facial cleanser, and use a retinol containing product nightly such as roc night cream. Once your skin is used to this regimen, you might consult with your doctor to begin a prescription regimen that includes a tretinoin, topical antibiotic and benzoyl peroxide. Sometimes oral regimen is needed for clearance.
