Can you explain if it's possible to have a greenstick fracture at 16?

Specializes in Orthopedic Surgery

Not likely but..,: 'greenstick' fractures and 'plastic deformation' fractures and injuries are distinctly unusual @ age 16. However, the term 'greenstick' fx.Is less commonly used by orthopedic surgeons than other medical practitioners ( pa's, pcp 's , nurse practitioners , etc.) and may be confusing the issue. This is why orthopedist's refrain from using outdated terms(like compound fx, 'colles' fx , 'greenstick'etc.
