A member asked:

At what blood pressure would you recommend going to the er?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: There is little point on going to an emergency room for elevated BP unless it is a sudden rise in a person who has no history of elevated BP or unless there are associated symptoms of headache, dizziness, visual disturbance, palpitations, vomiting or confusion. Otherwise see your physician for evaluation and treatment.
