Long bone growth: The growth centers in all long bones follow a similar pattern.The growth centers in the hand and wrist are even used to predict when final linear growth is finished. Closure of the growth centers in the wrist/hand is complete in most males at 17-18 with a few lagging behind. When the hand centers are closed, linear growth in the hands and height in general will stop.
