Arteriogram: A femoral runoff is slang for the study where the doctor will sedate you and numb up your groin. He will put a catheter into the artery leading to your aorta and then into the aorta. Contrast will be injected to image your aorta and legs (the runoff part). This will enable him to see blockages or narrowings and possibly guide therapy with a balloon or stent. It should not be painful or stressful.
