6 wk from sex, not 8: Gestational age estimates are not related to when a person had sex, unless the person had sex only during one time period when conception might have happened. For example, a person had sex 10 times during a 48-hour period, and no sex the month prior nor the month after. We would presume sex during those 48 hours caused the pregnancy, and count backwards 2 weeks to estimate the start of gestation.
