Maybe normal: The gastrocolic reflex in some people is very prominent. That is the reflex that occurs when food enters the stomach and causes peristaltic waves all the way through the intestines into the rectal area giving the urge to defecate. One can slow this process down by taking an antispasmodic like Bentyl (dicyclomine) 1/2 hour before eating. Discuss this with your physician.

Yes: There is an increased urge to defecate after meals and if you have formed stools, you may defecate several times per day. If they are watery, then its not normal.
