Cardiac: Unless you have had trauma to your left chest it must be considered cardiac pain until proven otherwise. Go see a doctor for exam and evaluation.

Several possbilities: Not likely cardiac which is usually pressure-like.Could be pleurisy, nerve entrapment, nerve inflammation, herpes zoster, rib fracture, rib dysfunction, muscle tear, etc. Recommend a good history & physical incl. osteopathic hands-on exam to figure it out. Tests, medicine, osteopathic manipulation, prolo/neuroprolotherapy, etc. may be indicated
