A member asked:

For the past 3 months, i've been getting very light periods that last up to 3 days. it used to last 5 days with heavy flow. i'm not sexually active.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Anovulation: One explanation for bleeding that is irregular and lighter than a period is because you are not ovulating. In this case, the lining seems to build up and then shed irregularly. It can be confused with a period or not. There is a basic workup that can be done by your doctor and you can also talk about way to regulate your cycle.
