What does implantation spotting look like and is it anything like regular menses?

No: Implantation bleeding is a bit of a misnomer. Most commonly when women are having bleeding around the time when they should have their menstrual cycle, it's not implantation bleeding it's hormonal bleeding from their cycle. Implantation bleeding, in effect, is rare.
