A member asked:

What are anti-rh antibodies present in normal serum?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It's complicated!: This is a antibody found in the blood of persons who are rhesus negative. That is they do not posses the rhesus antigen on the surface of their red blood cells. Their body thus produces the anti-rhesus antibody against the rhesus protein antigen. A person who is rh- lacks a chemical on their red blood cells. They should not have any antibodies for rh+, initially.
