A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bummer: Breakthrough bleeding can last a long time, unfortunately. Typically due to an imbalance between estrogen and Progesterone in your cycle. If it bothers you, best is to consider birth control pills to help regulate cycle. Some women, unfortunately, can experiencing bleeding every day of their cycle (severe breakthrough bleeding), so it runs the spectrum from a few days to 20 or more days.
